Eichendorff

Eichendorff is a paragon of virtue – and very ambitious. "Edi" seems to be consumed with the desire to do everything right. He used to be very shy but has gained a lot of self-confidence. You don't really notice that he's a stallion – neither when you're handling nor when you're riding him.  And since he's always so agreeable, he's become our "ribbon pony". He not only picks up his own ribbons but also those of his stable mates when the honors are awarded.

An Ehrentusch son, Eichendorff comes from the most famous mare line in Westphalia, the Spreen-Segelhorst line. His dam Florence produced four licensed stallions: along with Eichendorff she produced his full brother Ehrendorff, who stands at the State Stud in Warendorf, and Estobar NRW, the 2006 Champion Stallion in Westphalia who sold for the record price of 535,000 Euros at the Stallion Market. Florence also produced our licensed young stallion Moliere (by Münchhausen/Trakehner), who meanwhile wins medium (M) level dressage tests.
 
Eichendorff was discovered at the Westphalian Elite Auction in the fall of  2001. His first starts in tests for young dressage horses ended in victory with scores above 9.0. When he was six he was again the victor in St. George dressage tests. As a seven-year old he entered his first international advanced (S) level dressage tests. In 2006 and 2007 he won the "Stars of Tomorrow" series in Munich/GER and collected numerous first and other place ribbons in international Grand Prix dressage competitions.
