If you are a real tourist in Rio, the cable car ride up the Sugarloaf Mountain is a must. And so that's exactly what we did - with Edward Gal/NED and Hans Peter Minderhoud/NED. It's too bad that the weather was so overcast.

You have to have a bit of courage to do it. The cable car even has small windows in the floor so you can also look down - which means that you shouldn't have any problems with heights. Otherwise the ride up might be quite uncomfortable.

Along with the Sugarloaf Mountain, which is 395 meter high, there is also the Corcovado with the crucifix they call Cristo Redentor, another trademark of Rio.

On our way back we got stuck in one of those famous South American traffic jams. The way people drive here is just unbelievable and pretty frightening.
